2142 doesn't use the same textures (that just wouldn't make any sense whatsover) and it couldn't possibly be an expansion since the engine is different, albeit merely tweaked but still different. Therefore you lose, generalandrew.

I think he is right about the engine: it is a tweaked engine and the new BF could be an expansion, they also tweaked the engine a bit for Special Forces, so they easily could release it as expansion as well smile

it is not the same era, but €50 is way too much for this game

as ram has said its a modified engine of BF2! so it CANT be released as a mod. it will contain alot of extra hardcoded features im sure! i think it is going to be underestimated alot tbh.. and BF has a great feel which quakewars may not have, and if it plays like quake i think it will be quite borin tbh.

i think BF2142 and ut07 will be amazing

Lol, I stand corrected then. I thought I read that they used the same textures. It was probably another forum poster ranting like I did and just put that in there out of anger. Anyway, I know it's WAY to much to be released as a mod, but it could be introduced as a cheaper expansion pack, since Special Forces also tweaked the engine. Anyway, this is my last post for this forum topic because I don't want it to turn into a war.
