Re: IDEA!

Hmmmm, you're right. Thanks for pointing that out.

Re: IDEA!

Yeah, like r2d2 or the mouse droid in GC. They had a repair beam that could be modded to remove mines i bet, or they could just drive over the mine and...

Re: IDEA!

Well if they were to implement driods, I like the idea of having the repair beam disable the claymores. BUT, if BF: 2142 still has the rule of two claymores per person, mabye FS can put a limit on the amount of each kit there are on the field?

Re: IDEA!

Or you could make claymores vulnerable to both lasers and explosives, just like real life. Except in real life claymores cant be dropped in 1 second and dont explode when youre 6 feet behind them. The people that deploy them also cant save themselves by bunny hopping.

If you make claymores vulnerable, the way they ought to be, then uncaring people will still blunder into them, while smart people will check and destroy any traps before moving forward.

Current BF2 claymore whoring is ridiculous. I see a claymore for 5 minutes, but it detonates when im 10 feet behind it after sneaking around it.... pathetic.

In real life, if you shoot a claymore with a gun, it will either detonate or be destroyed in such a way that it will not be a threat. If you throw a hand grenade within 30 feet of it, same.

In star wars, lets assume that the laser is awesome at disentegrating mines left by those cowardly rebels.... at least thats an excuse why they use lasers instead of guns anyway heh.

Re: IDEA!

If the EMP grenades from the recon kit can fry a mech then im sure they can disable a mine, even if a normal grenade doesnt work. Is First Strike going to keep EMP grenades in the recon kit?

One thing I'd really like to see in First Strike is laser trip mines like the ones in Jedi Academy. They are very obvious to the enemy, but they look cool, and you can set them up in grids so its like a spy movie. You could probably use a claymore but make the area that it senses at 1 degree instead of the whole front side, then make them sticky like c4 and add a laser just for show, unless you can actually make the bomb trip when someone hits the laser, AT mines go off only when you hit them right?

Re: IDEA!

Hmmmm, that's an idea with the trip bombs! Have a little laser beam appear. And instead of having an event trigger by passing a certain location in the corridor, have an event trigger to display a warning on the defending team's HUD if someone activates this trip mine or deactivates it! But make these objects so that they can't be blown up by gun fire, etc., and that no class can lay them.
