Or you could make claymores vulnerable to both lasers and explosives, just like real life. Except in real life claymores cant be dropped in 1 second and dont explode when youre 6 feet behind them. The people that deploy them also cant save themselves by bunny hopping.
If you make claymores vulnerable, the way they ought to be, then uncaring people will still blunder into them, while smart people will check and destroy any traps before moving forward.
Current BF2 claymore whoring is ridiculous. I see a claymore for 5 minutes, but it detonates when im 10 feet behind it after sneaking around it.... pathetic.
In real life, if you shoot a claymore with a gun, it will either detonate or be destroyed in such a way that it will not be a threat. If you throw a hand grenade within 30 feet of it, same.
In star wars, lets assume that the laser is awesome at disentegrating mines left by those cowardly rebels.... at least thats an excuse why they use lasers instead of guns anyway heh.
