Re: Question about Desktop Computer

Well, thanks for the input guys, but I've actually gone to the companys website now (www.lucomputers.com) and built my own barebones computer that I will probably end up ordering and combining with my brother's video and sound card (ATI 1900) and then just buy an Nvidia DX10 card whenever they are released and buy a 19 widescreen LCD.

Here's the quote for the parts that I want, it's really reasonable if they actually follow through with it (which I'm imagining they will since it's a quote).

Re: Question about Desktop Computer

By the way if you want to fit an X1900XT in I think you need a pretty big case, like the Coolermaster Stacker 830 (compared to that, the x1900 is a floppy lol).

Re: Question about Desktop Computer

Really? Well, I don't know if the case I'm getting is big enough but I know that the computer that my bro bought from Dell could fit the card in its default case with no problem so I'm hoping any new case that I buy will be able to do so.

Re: Question about Desktop Computer

Well fitiing it in won't be the biggest problem (except in my old pc, im sure it didnt fit in that mATX case) but the thing produces 90 degrees of heat, so an adequate cooling solution in the form of lots of space would be handy for the harddisks/CPU/memory/motherboard smile

you say 90 degrees like its alot smile my 2 year old comp with an x800pro agp8x has an internal case temp over 100 degrees F playing Bf2 (though that could just be the cpu).
anyway I wouldnt go as far as the cooler master RC-830 unless you want a dual/ quad cpu (not core) system, although the thing does have ubsurd cooling capabilities which would be useful for overclocking if you want to go down that path smile
