Well if the defenders weren't really used as much besides the fight over endor, why not ONLY put them in that battle, I imagine it would be mostly dog fighting... if there was only one squadron of them there only needs to be one Tie defender, give it a slow respawn since its power... and give the rebels some sort of advantage of thier own, like repair ships, or faster respawns. Or of course an objective mode would work too, but that has already been done like 1,000,000 times.

I have always enjoyed objective mode, it promotes teamwork imho.

I don't mean objective mode in general, I mean objecive mode as in destroying advanced Ties, its in Tie Fighter, and its in GC. I like objective mode too, but destroying Tie fighters seems repetitive, and unoriginal.

In fact, the X-wing series of books are so off base, that even the Authors admitted how wrong they were. They only made certain situations to favor the outcome of the main story characters.

Yeah, the comics, games and novels are too often quoted as gospel despite some of the major contradicitons. There is, however, a couple official sources that have been released in the past regarding technical specifications including max speed.
