I digged the demo! it was miles better than the beta.

To be honest, I expected this game to be rather bad after seeing some responses on some sites, but the initial reaction was more positive than first time I played bf2. All these booms and bams and effects suits the setting som much more than mordern warfare. As been mentioned, there's a few new toys to play with that I'm sure we'll use to the largest extent.

I agree though with the guns being crap for accuracy, I mean it's alot easier picking up the sniper rifle or the zooka to kill ppl. Hell even the enginer autopistol gives me more kills than a machine gun. They ought to fix that it's a major piss for alot of people.

I totally agree Ulversial, the demo rocks, locks of new skins and looks like they fixed the bugs that were present in the Beta.

I just had one of the best battles I have ever encountered in the battlefield series, titan CQB is the new thing smile

I like it alot. As others have said, I definitely enjoy it more than the bf2 demo. The graphics are quite a bit improved, the load times are great, almost faster than 1942!! The use of normal maps seems much improved, they generally look a lot better. I love the animated textures aswell. I cant seem to get as high a framerate in the demo as I do in BF2, but its definitely playable. Still, I'd love it if I could get it to the usual 99fps I get in BF2 since I just spent millions on a new pc.

It certainly fits the style of our mod much better and we'll be able to take advantage of the new effects/features for sure.  I cant wait to see how awesome our mod will look on the engine big_smile

smurf yeah to everyone who liked the demo.  I have to say the squad system and Titan stuff work WONDERFULLY in this new game.

I can't describe the awesomeness of forming a squad called 'TitanCRU', loading up a transport and raping some flags, and everyone in my squad working as a unit.  It's super rewarding and I even get points for a successful landing - that is a nice touch.

And when the Titan shields go down we all pile into transports and go board their ship.  The firefights inside the titans are just great gameplay - reminded me of the 3DMark06 demos haha.




EDIT: and about the infantry combat - BF has always been about Pray n Spray up close, and dolphin diving and firing in bursts at far range.  It's a trademark of the series and won't change and I'm happy with that.  The nice thing is that if you're a careful infrantryman and treat open ground like the deathtrap it is (I'm an America's Army vet), you'll be able to avoid being raped by a tank or mech.

I seriously can't WAIT for the beta or alpha or whatever of FS.

About weapons precision, perhaps the game concept is to unlock (after only 4 unlock points) the other guns to have some serious control in the hands.. If it's like that, it would be ok!!

In other words, you start with a minimum of sprint.. minimum of items, no good guns smile can't wait to unlock

Canadiens summed everything up pretty nicely. The game is superb. Being able to play with a group of Titan killing Mofo's, and just own everyone in CQC is pretty awesome.

All of the things I've seen though, just make me anticipate FS 3x as much. I simply CANNOT wait untill testing goes down, and we get to see some screenshots of stuff in-game!
