Re: Habeus Corpus - rip

The sad thing is that this will occur and no one, especially us here in the forums can do anything about it. Too few people know or even have the power to change the course of events that are occuring. It is a process of "dumbing down" of the country so that no one will understand let alone care about what is going on in the government. The generation of children that are being put out into the world from the schools are complete idiots (most). My proof is obvious; clothing, music, art, and a loss of faith. These things reflect the times we live in. The music is absolute trash and requires the listener to have a vocabulary of less than 100 words. The art is basically scam. The Clothing barely exists in women now a days, and in men they dress in long clothes because they want to live like people in the ghetto. There was a time when it was a disgrace to be called ghetto or a pimp. Now it is accepted. Hell everything is accepted. Everyone has to be politically correct nowadays. So then where do we draw the line? The Middle East is flourishing, Western countries are falling. For hamsters's sake we are killing our own children and grandparents through abortion and euthanasian. Bush's take over of the government (if it happens since our economy is in disgrace) will happen and it will occur easily. hamsters bless the United States.

Good post VeritasMK. I don't know about the Bush statement, but the rest I completely agree with.

You may think me foolish, but I don't remember any president saying that (although I'm not sure about Mahmoud Ahmadinejad).

Re: Habeus Corpus - rip

"DOUG THOMPSON, CAPITOL HILL BLUE - Last month, Republican Congressional leaders filed into the Oval Office to meet with President George W. Bush and talk about renewing the controversial USA Patriot Act. Several provisions of the act, passed in the shell shocked period immediately following the 9/11 terrorist attacks, caused enough anger that liberal groups like the American Civil Liberties Union had joined forces with prominent conservatives like Phyllis Schlafly and Bob Barr to oppose renewal.

GOP leaders told Bush that his hardcore push to renew the more onerous provisions of the act could further alienate conservatives still mad at the President from his botched attempt to nominate White House Counsel Harriet Miers to the Supreme Court.

"I don't give a goddamn," Bush retorted. "I'm the President and the Commander-in-Chief. Do it my way."

"Mr. President," one aide in the meeting said. "There is a valid case that the provisions in this law undermine the Constitution."

"Stop throwing the Constitution in my face," Bush screamed back. "It's just a goddamned piece of paper."

I've talked to three people present for the meeting that day and they all confirm that the President of the United States called the Constitution "a goddamned piece of paper.". . .  "

Re: Habeus Corpus - rip

Please show your source better, as it is not very clear. It is my understanding that you believe that you know at least one of President Bush's "guests". I also doubt that any of your “friend’s” stories are admissible.
