Well I don't know how big an SSD's hanger is, I'm just presuming it's bigger than a standard Star Destroyer's, thinking something similar to the Trade Fed ship hanger (which fit the Republic Diplomatic Cruiser quite comfortably in TPM) but bigger. Maybe it could fit a Nebulon-B Frigate. The main problem I'd have with using that ship is that it can't land, from the design it looks to me like that ship is only spacebound, that design couldn't possibly land on a planet, and I doubt it could land in a hanger either.

True. Use a dreadnought then. This will definitely fit in, as Star Wars Databank has recently revised the SSD's length to 19km

but stills from the movie reveal that the Executor's enormous hangar bay could have easily contained an entire capital ship of this class. (ISD)

like i said.....have the rebels in control of a hanger and have it look like a landing point for the Rebels INSIDE the titan so u dont have to worry about the space battle part of it.....b/c like what was said "the SSD is to big" so just have the inside....

Aye, we could go that route, but that's why I had the idea of doing two seperate maps, one with the exterior space battle sequence around the SSD, and the second for the boarding action. The boarding action map would start as you suggest, with the Rebel ships already docked in the SSD's hanger.  For the exterior level you'd just have to use a skybox to fake the extensive length of the exterior SSD with only a central section actually truely built like say the command tower and the hangers nearest to it, and maybe an engine or two.

The other way would be to scale the whole map down to an ISD, but I think going down that route would lose some of the originality and scope of tackling an SSD as a map. But would still be cool.

Re: SSD Map Idea

or mabye even having a battle b/t an ISD and a Rebel Frigate in space, having the imps. defending the SSD [which can be barley seen in the distance] and having the battle taking place for the area around the SSD [space that is]

b/c it has been said many times, it wont fit..... so just make it a battle with somthing that DOES fit....

see.... they dont have to worry about having the exterior of the SSD now.... just the interior

Re: SSD Map Idea

The whole idea was to be able to get to the SSD and then the next map starts....
