GC is/was a very good mod for BF1942, I loved it (still loves it, but sold my copy of bf1942)!!!

But First Strike is a completely different mod, on another engine, with another crew (most of them).

We used to have a filter on the phrase "Galactic conquest" and intials "GC", that converted them too "that other crappy SW mod." Then people suddenly stopped thinking of us as being GC:2 for some reason and the filter was removed.

Now that we have most of the GC crew onboard, as far as I am concerned we are now GC:2, for good or bad. Just don't expect this sequel to be a carbon copy of the orriginal with new graphics, it is a whole new game from the ground up only the GC teams experience and fame remain.

Oh no.  Someone is calling themselves "Woody"?  Bad news matey, I'm gonna have to ask that you consider a new name.  It may get very confusing otherwise smile


But yes, this is not GC 2.  While we'll be guided by what we know worked well in GC, we'll also be avoiding many of the pitfalls that the mod hit.  Also, a lot of modding is personalized around the developers building it.  While some of us have migrated over, quite a few of us are in new jobs and the influences of the other developers are also prevalent.  As such, you can expect this to be a brand new mod
