Re: Shiplist on website

You mean the 2000, when you say YT, right? Okay, well I mean, yeah, at least the 2000 doesn't have the blindspot, but on the other hand the 1300 has more visibility and is cheaper.

I hope someone remembers though that a standard 1300 does not have a missile launcher, has only one (non quad) laser turret on top - and NO SENSOR DISH!!!! All those things are Han Solo add-ons to the Falcon, in addition to the getaway blaster.

So, if the 2000 is too new and shiny for the Rebels, I'm guessing the 2400 is out of the question?

Re: Shiplist on website

Franky i can't see how the LAAT would work in space as everybody in its sorter cargo bay area would get suck up into space or die of extreme cold. There seems to be nothing (apart from a door and that has holes in it) that makes that back area space prove

Re: Shiplist on website

It does actually, in SWRC it is launhed from space and numerous other sources  state it as a rebel spacecraft as well. (well 3 but hey)

It's got some sort of forcefield in there.

Re: Shiplist on website

tbh I think if the YT-3100 did exist in the game, it would give a feeling of "they just HAD to put the millenium falcon in", almost like a rush and almost like a lack of fantasy/knowledge from us devs, which we all know by now is not the case.
Most people playing wouldnt think of it as a YT-3100, they would think of it as The Millenium Falcon.

Re: Shiplist on website

True enough, though using a 1300 would probably make the most sense. Perhaps you guys might get creative with the model and skin. Like, maybe add a few disfigurements to the craft that would clearly show it isn't the 'shiny' falcon. I suppose it would be a hassle, but perhaps you might have a few versions of the the craft.  One of them might have one of the forward mandible things missing (damage from previous battles, that might also make the reb side feel a tad more rugged), another could have marks showing that the original cockpit was sheared off, and had to be replaced with a cockpit from a different craft, etc.
Also their could be different color schemes. And in addition to this, you might give each ship a name printed to the side of the cockpit (though still using the in game name YT-1300). This way players will know absolutely for certain that the ship their boarding is NOT Hans. Also might add a tad of fake depth to the game...

Re: Shiplist on website

I think painting a large rebel logo on the top and bottom will remind people. It would be better from a realism PoV to have only one turret, but theres no reason why the Rebels wouldn't have modified them for their own use with two turrets.

Also, if we make the ingame name YT-1300R for rebel, it will further distance it from the Falcon. At the end f the day, the Gallofree is too large, the delta transport too obsucre, and the YT-2000 and 2400 too new.

Re: Shiplist on website

Í don't think the Rebel YT should be more rugged, their B-Wings and X-wings look nice, shiny and the cockpit windows polished.

Not too new of course, but a white and red tint with Rebel logo on top and bottom (the circle fits perfectly) would be nice smile
