Re: I know it's big, but...
kinda like the yt-1300,you could say there was only one in star wars because we only ever saw one.but in reality there was many
Its implied that there are multiple YT-1300s. They call it a "pile of junk" suggesting they've seen freighters like it before. Han talks of its extra stuff - so we can assume either its one of many or custom built

Re: I know it's big, but...
YT-1300 is actually a transport vessel. You can derive that there were many made, considering that the design of the YT series ships continued up until the Yuuzhon Vong (or however you spell it) invaded, and possibly further. For those that ever played the Star Wars game that centered around Dash Rendar (I think that was his name), "Shadows of the Empire," his ship was a YT series ship, a newer version than the YT-1300 that Han used. Therefore, it can be assumed that YT-1300's were either outdated or extremely common at the time of the Galactic Civil War. As for Interceptors, I thought I saw some in RotJ... maybe I'm going crazy.

Re: I know it's big, but...
Hmm, not sure this is possible in the engine, but can't you just make the players very small, and keep the Death Star as normal size? It would seem gigantic, without being big at all Has been done in other games, just can't remember any of them right now >.< EDIT: Half Life 2!!! was used to create maps larger than "possible" (Used in the Empires mod for example)

Re: I know it's big, but...
Actually, if memory serves me right, the TIE Interceptor didn't enter Imperial service until just prior to the events of TESB. Many of the key designs were taken from Darth Vader's TIE Advanced x1 prototype after The Battle of Yavin. Another common misconception is that the A-wing was in Alliance service during the events of ANH when in actuality, the A-wing didn't enter Alliance service until some time after. The A-wing was derived from an experimental starfighter the Alliance was testing during the events of ANH, the R-22 Spearhead, and General Jan Dodonna & Engineer Walex Blissex examined the role of speed at The Battle of Yavin. I need to pull out my reference material and refresh my memory on the exact time the A-wing entered service in the Rebellion. What I do remember is that it was around the period of TESB.

Yeah, your right. lol The YT-1300 is a very old design and is quite common throughout the galaxy. In fact, the Millennium Falcon itself had a very small cameo appearance in ROTS in it's original form, which was 18 years prior to ANH. The YT-1300 can be modified into countless variations (much like the Alliance's Y-wing starfighter), but is commonly classified as a light freighter. Dash Rendar's Outrider was a much newer YT model, a YT-2400 (which was heavily modified as well). Speaking of Shadows of the Empire, I LOVE that game. Oh, man. I wish LA would update that baby and re-release it. A DS incarnation would be perfect. Ah, so many fond memories of sitting in front of my tv and blowing the crap out of Imperial and Black Sun forces. I feel nostalgic. HAS IT BEEN 10 YEARS ALREADY??!!!
