Re: Parachutes

Doesn't that kick in just before you hit the ground? That sounds very hard to code.

Re: Parachutes

Put it this way the current testers build does not feature paracutes.

Generally thats what happens when you step off a building...

Re: Parachutes

i can understand stepping off a building... but even so, this is the future, im sure they have something to help stop them from splatting on the ground.

But my real question was, what if you want to eject out of your x-wing or tie-fighter and you're over land like the battles in galactic conquest?

If you are referring to the Star Wars mod Galactic Conquest for bf1942, and you ejected out of your x-wing or tie-fighter and you're over land, you went splat on the ground.

The thing is ejection seats were only breifly mentioned once, in any of the movies, and you never once saw a parachute or any such device (although some may argue Boba Fett's jetpack). When Luke jumped down the chasm in Cloudcity, he didn't pull his parachute. Better yet when Luke was shot down in his airspeeder on Hoth, he didn't jump out and pull his parachute, he crashed into the snow, which is something we will try to replicate.
Hope that clears up any misconceptions. smile

Re: Parachutes

Possibly a  lowered fall damage on snow/soft material?  And it could be worked into that grenade that we are testing as a tactical way to fall.
