Re: Ejecting out of your ship in space

I think the general Dev/public census is that it's worthless lol. And really when it's explained why due to the gravitational standard having to be set equal all throughout a map, it makes sense; if you have zero g in one area of the map, it all has to be zero g.

so , no way to walk once you get out of the ship, cause yer pretty much floating everywhere... or vice versa as was the same with GC...  well then if we cant split the gravities, were stuck with having gravity on so we can move about when indoors and probably not have the ability to eject once in space... its cool.. it was just another thought i had. Maybe EA will release a patch sometime to allow split gravities and jet-equipped seats to fly with, after ejecting.

Unfortunately no. That would require re-working the engine to what I think taking it to extensive measures, costing probably literally millions of dollars since you have to re-hire or re-assign coding specialists to re-code the engine and then hiring or re-assigning testers all of which get paid tons of money per hour that would have to be paid out for a project like this at EA to get approval for.

And then not only will we get bombarded with one booster pack, but perhaps three or four to cover the costs. But, I'm not a coder, so I'm not sure if it's that complicated or not, but I do know messing with the engine  is kind of tricky.

AND THEN.... once you modify the engine from it's original state, it's no longer legally Battlefield: 2142 thus leaving EA being open for law suites or major piracy before they get the lawyers to patent/copy right/document the changes, etc. But then again we're talking about the largest multi billion dollar gaming monopoly in the industry, so I'm not surprised if they have several hundred lawyers hired twenty four seven/three sixty five.

Sadly, EA/DiCE is not who they were like in BF: 1942 when content was actually once free....

Re: Ejecting out of your ship in space

then again general andrew, it may be really simple to turn off gravity in one section and add it to the editor so we can use it ourselves. Well just have to wait and see, hopefully a EA editor dev will read this thread and see what we need to make FS outstanding.
