Re: UAV model

But that was is the point of the Death Star map, the rebels should be under a lot of fire, I mean they're assaulting an IMMENSE battle station that is equiped with thousands of turbolasers and tons of TIEs.  That is the purpose for making the trench run, if you don't stay in the trench, then you get blasted to little bits by the turbolasers on the surface.

As for a UAV on the death star map, I'm not sure how well that would fit into the one-way objective style play.  And I don't think that the Imps would be using probe droids out there anyway.  Maybe neither side gets a UAV, but instead the Commander's scan function recharges very fast.  This would also improve the teamplay, for instance, the TIE fighter pilots would have to rely on the commander or other teammates to relay position information on the incoming rebel fighters.

And I believe that there was a whole fleet of star destroyers at Hoth, including of course Vader's personal Super SD, the Executor.  Since regular ISDs only carry landing barges with enough room for one ATAT in each, I'm thinking that the Executor launched its Y-85 barges to deploy the ground force.

Re: UAV model

Aha!  sorry for the double post but I felt it was worth it.  I finally found some pictures of different bouys and sattelites (if they're in deep space I guess they wouldn't be called sattelites) that could possibly used as UAV models on space maps.  Here goes, I found them all here:http://www.uploadit.org/gallery/13438, and these were the ones that I thought looked cool enough for the job:

I think that the "Sensor Array" one is applicable for the UAV role, but the others looked cool so I thought "eh, whatever"

Re: UAV model

But I think the devs first gonna recreate the universe seen in the movies smile

Re: UAV model

I know, but as far as I know there wasn't really anything in the movies with UAV properties besides probe droids, and because the UAV is such a big part of BF:2 gameplay, there is gonna need to be one in-game.  So for space maps, those were my suggestions.  If you can think of any UAV type objects in the movies, post them here cause I couldn't think of any.

Re: UAV model

so, devs, what is the word on the UAVs, or is it a secret?

These two, the Sysat T-20 and the Sysat T-24 are both Star Wars sattelites, straight from the EU.
