Wow.  I'm surprised I didn't hit submit on the pages of complaints I have about not only 2142, but BF2 also.  To sum up everything I typed and failed to put up: neither game is worth it from a modding standpoint.  The amount of suffering is far greater than most other games, apparently.

That's not to say we're going to stop or our mod won't be kick-bottom though   However I'd stave off buying 2142 until at least we (or one or two other mods) have released.  Then it'd justify the price for what's really just BF2 with some bug fixes and features that should have existed to begin with.

well i do, the hovering is great, but every bump on the field makes it bump to. sometimes even giving damage to somethign that doesnt even have contact to the ground :S

Simply put BF2 was the worse sequel in the Battlefield franchise.

BF2142 is more refreshing and alot more fun to play. BF2 especially Special Forces focused way too much on infantry based combat. BF2142 is a foot in the right direction to going back to what Battlefield is all about.

So there is your answer on BF2142 so the question is why haven't you uninstalled BF2 yet? Quit reading and buy BF2142
