I don't think you're right on that. LucasArts doesn't trademark the name Han Solo or Stormtrooper or E-11 blaster. If every single mod team for every single game had to ask such, LA would have to hire dozens of people for the sole purpose of approving modded material. That's unrealistic and impractical.

they did shut down mods in the past cause of the content the mods used

In my last post when I say "lay off mods" I meant they're starting to lay off of them, not shut them down.

Although it's been a long time, I too have read they shut down Star Wars mods, but not anymore. I think GC was the last mod that got into any trouble.

It's been my understanding that mods are safe as long as they don't use "Star Wars" in the title of the mod, that way the mod is not confused with an actual LucasArts product.

yeah, u can be right

but we from Troopers: dawn of destiny (star wars mod for ut2k4) had to ask permission at Lucasarts

the mod started after the release of ut2k3 and we moved to ut2k4
