ATST maybe ...but an ATAT ,carrying passengers , kneeling all the time to let people in and out doesnt seem very practcal.

The ATAT would most likely line up the doorway with a (landing pad) platform when filling up with passengers (tho most of the time it would be a 1 time thing at the start of a mission/battle...i cant quite see an ATAT being used as a bus) .
To quickly disembark wires would probably be used....much like the clonetroops used to disembark the gunships on Utapau.
