This actually somewhat reminds me of the lock-picking mini-game in Oblivion, I always enjoyed trying to open those really hard chests.

Re: Slicing

The only thing I can think of is a Commander's Ability that lets you see where every enemy unit is on the map. Implement it like the satellite scan and call it "Hacking enemy comms network" or something. Meh.

How about another one where theres a place in the ship's main reactor where a boarder could hack into it and make it go critical!

[Curses the idiots in charge of Rogue Squadron II and III]

"Critical" when discussing a reactor does not refer to the reactor overheating or deciding to blow itself up. That is called a "meltdown". In essence, you can take a reactor critical, and this is quite often done, as it's the process of turning it on. So obviously, Rogue Squadron's ships aren't powered by nuclear power - whenever the Imperials activate their reactors, they tend to... explode tongue . They also have an odd way of activating the things - it seems to be possible only through damaging the vessel.

OK, enough RS teasing... for now.

Yea something like that would be fun.

Electrical connections instead of pins..  If you mess up badly, alarms go off...

Some guy hacks the enemy mainframe. He gets tagged with a glowing Data symbol over his head. He then has to return to his main base and input it in his mainframe. If he gets killed the data disappears or drops as a huge glowing data symbol.

Kinda like capture the flag but with data stolen from the enemy.

Make stolen data captured by the enemy take away points from the team so they lose quicker.

I wanna steal the plans for the deathstar wink
