The two turrets on either side are anti-fighter, and the big gun on top is cap ship -- but don't think it's useless in a broadside, as it does swivel, as seen in ANH (not like a Corvette would be good in a broadside anyways, lol, unless it was against a Carrack or Lancer, I suppose)

Agreed, the two big twin-barrel turrets have to be the anti-capital ship ones.

That would be a good 6 seat ship. Pilot has turbo locked forward, rear gunner with the other turbo, and 4 quad gunners.

If anyone's interested, here's a quick comparison on the Gunship and Lancer
           
           Gunship/Lancer
Length: 120/250
Arms:  6 quad lasers, 8 turbos, 4 missile launchers (30 shots each)/20 quad lasers
Crew: 90/300


The Lancer is more like a Neb-B than a corvette or gunship.

In my opinion, the best way to balance this would to give the Rebels 2 corvettes/gunships for every lancer.

Yup, you can perfectly well have it both ways, both flying and aiming the gun.
