Re: You know what the saddest part is?....................

It's ok guys. We don't want anything to get out of hand. smile

There have been some pretty fine games by LA. Not all LA games are Star Wars related too. 'Zak McCrakken and the Alien Mindbenders' was one of the coolest games I've played. Maniac Mansion, Full Throttle, The Dig...  oooooh The Dig, what an AWESOME game. The X-wing and Tie Fighter games, which have been mentioned recently in the forums are all quite good.
So needles to say, LA used to be a powerhouse when it came to games. Sadly though, some of their more recent games have been sub-par at best, but once in a while they surprise you with a really good title. smile

I'll agree Lego SW II was fun. And KOTOR 2 WILL be fun once TSLRP comes out. But SWG.......

Anyways, LA has a proud history of producing great games. They just have slipped up enough times in recent memory for people to notice.

There's a few SW games probably coming out for the next-gen consoles - a Darth Vader one (http://uk.gamespot.com/news/6147799.html?sid=6147799), where you play exclusively as him, and "Force Unleashed" (http://uk.ps3.ign.com/objects/823/823668.html) (although that was a tech demo, not a game preview).

Expect Battlefront 3 and KotoR three, as they've been so successful.

Re: You know what the saddest part is?....................

The X-Wing series were just awesome. I actually liked Galactic Battlegrounds, too.

But yes, the newer titles just... lack something. I haven't played that LEGO game or the newer JK games, but I have played all the RS series games, the Battlefront games, and Empire at War, and they just... seem pretty half-hearted. None of the developers seemed interested at all in researching the SW universe and its lore, there was a ton of half-guesses, and they were filled with clichés and "it was in the movies, so it has to be used a 1000 times in this game"-type re-use of movie scenes (anyone else notice that every time an AT-AT appears in the RS games, you're coincidentally in a speeder with tow cables?).

Old games were awesome, newer games lack quite a bit.
