Zero-G troopers were in X-Wing Alliance, too. They were fun to mow down with turbo laser fire from the Otana.

I remember these, too. They were more than deadly. In fact, I dare say they were overpowered (their guns should be lighter). Other than that, they were really cool.

I'd like to have Zero-G Utility troopers, too. 'Space engineers' who repair ships from the outside (I think it'd make for a nice scene, troops hovering by, or sitting on, the hull of starships with wielding tools, and enemy fighters trying to strafe them. It'd make for an interesting challenge, having to leave the safety of your ship to repair it. Perhaps they could have other uses, too.

Details aside, I love this idea and I think it should be implemented as early as possible !
