Phase 3 variants were able to be worn as a battle suit.

Battlefront did Dark Troopers just fine until they made their blasters more accurate and increased the recharge rate of their jump packs.  While those changes made them more hardcore as Dark Troopers would be in actuality, it only made winning in the Galactic Civil War as a Rebel as hard as it already was to be a droid in the Clone Wars.  Whether it was tards whining or developers that were tards, the only patch ever released for that game only made it worse.

I think they'd be an acceptable class, either an additional class entirely or a replacement following a merger of either Trooper and Support or Trooper and Heavy Weapons.  Or perhaps Heavy Weapons and Support.  Just need to make sure no one goes overboard with them.

Take a lesson from the Battlefront series:  they weren't broken, but they tried to fix them.  Luckily, their tweak on the Jet Troopers didn't have an effect, positive or negative.  But, unfortunately, they didn't learn the lesson that it's important to remember the nature of whatever it is you're trying to create...  unless they wanted to make something in the semblance of crap.  I'd believe it.

Battlefront was just a way to make money and please the masses. It had complete disregard for lore, teamwork and many other things which I cant be bothered to go into. Dark troopers were nothing close to what you see in the game and I wouldnt be surprised if the devs for battlefront had no idea about actual darktroopers and just named that class darktrooper because it was cool.

Re: Dark Troopers

I agree, the Battlefronts were so far removed from both the film and EU Star Wars it was a joke, and the devs had blatantly never played any of the previous SW games.  Sorry, I can't help but get a BF dig in whenever I can :-)

Dark Troopers might work in FS, but I think there's plenty of good Stormtrooper/Imperial classes to be taken from the films before they start tinkering with the EU characters, and besides, the classes should suit the map (Snowtroopers on Hoth, Sandtroopers on Tatooine), so Dark Troopers should only really  appear in maps that fit their mythology.

Dark troopers would definitely NEVER be a core class. And since pick-up kit are never going to happen, there will be none.

Re: Dark Troopers

It took 3 people a long time to code the ATST.

A vehicle with human movements as animations? hah.

That would take forever.
