tbh I think this could be a whole waste of people time

Well the thing is your not exposed to the vaccum of space in witch your body would expand  till you riped your skin. (think Live or Let Die a old James Bond move in witch the main bad guy gets killed by a shark gun.)

If thats true then we've got nothing to work with.
And lets be honest, it is still a game guys nothing to be ashamed of if you dont lose a bit of health when a ship is damaged.

it is still a game guys nothing to be ashamed of if you don't lose a bit of health when a ship is damaged.Yes very true yet there where lot people that played the S.W.B.F. 2 there is life support that you can blow it up as well. 15 people told me on X-fire it really made them mad that nothing happens  when Life support is down, and it was one of the reasons they did not play the game there was more to.If its all waste of your time then don't have any life support on your ships that any player can interact with, if you can't or unwilling to show them any effect.Now before any starts in how this going to be a whole new game.I Already know that just trying to show that C.P.s if on ship you don't have use the same old  C.P. flag to use. Making it a task with environmental changes instead.

Well, you know what I think?
I think theres no way in hell this is going to happen.

Too complex for the engine, and not a good thing to introduce into gameplay, I can imagine the nooblets now...

a capitaL ships have this key point

1)engine
2)command bridge
3)shield generator
4)sensor
5)ion cannon
6)turbo laser
7)escape pd
8)torpedos launcher

1) if the main engine as been destroyd the ships cant move
2) if the bridge commander destriyd the commander can mkae order at squad
3)............hehehe
4)if D. no tracking enemy fighter on maps
5)the commander can select the aion cannon of the capital ships for drain the enemy shields
6)if a palyer respawn in the bridge commander can use the turbolaser turret.
7)like the capsulle of bf2142
8)like an orbital strike the commander can do a barrage fire in an area whit torpedos for some seconds(missiles can follow the enemy fighters)

why do think that having a flag is good thing its old. All the battle field and battle fronts use it.
I would rather be doing something then standing a round looking all directions for some one who may not be there. besides that when have you seen Flags that magically go done in battle field any way? It would make since to make a task other then some flag waiting game.

look right off the bat I admit I'm not a coder.As look at battlefield 2142 Titan mode I know that can't be true you have to blow four consuls to open a door to the reactor room why not make that part of the maps c.p. system as well.

what problem do see with a task driven C.P. then to a old  C.P. that players spawn kill to take the C.P. I would rather have some one take the time to compete a task then set new ways of killing me as just I spawn there.

well ok but the reason i picked life support was it would equal everyone out on both sides not just the enemy. Who ever would spawn on the ship with life support out would have the 50% originally, but with out knowing the weapons power in the game changed it to 10% and no running.
Environmental changes in the game is it possible to make the lights turn red or flash? Its the little things like that. When you first walk in to a Titan room and the lighting changes. That gives a since of depth to the game instead of just walking though. I would like to just make it more player interactive. (There some thing deep down in a dark corner of my soul that has to have the world, even a game world go to hell for every one on the other side. Making the lights change peaceful white to dark red as I blow up  there engine. Is just one of the ways to gut there team moral in the game.)

nice more ideas. Making the commander toys part of the ship now thats good.

Ok, seriously that took me 2 times over to read and understand.

But I now see what your saying, I thought you were still going on about the Life Support.

If I am right you are talking about destroying an object that triggers the CP to become under that teams control. That would only work in some cases though, obviously. And it may not be the best idea because rambos can sneak into those areas and take CPs with little/no effort.

Hopfully the ships with large interiors will ahve lots of immersive elements like flashing lights triggered by players entering areas of the ship. And other stuff like that. I am still kind of shady on the destroying objects to get control though, it would work better if the thing being destroyed grants the attacking team access to the next spawn point.
