Yeah, I didn't think there were special commandoes on Hoth except for the Ice Trooper, but all he was, was an upgraded Storm Trooper to stay warm.

I agree with you on Hoth, I don't think there should be Bothan Spies, wookies, or Mon Calamari.  We only really see humans and Tuan-Tuans on hoth, with the exception of the Wampa (special hidden kit anybody? easteregg?).  I think its important to keep it as close to the movie as possible for maps like Hoth, Death Star, and Endor (ground), because we've seen those battles over and over, and we know who fights them.

Hoth: Humans only

Death Star: Humans only (Maybe Bothan Spies, maybe)

Endor (ground): Humans, maybe ewoks? smile

Endor (space): everybody, wookies, bothans, mon calamari

As for the rest of the maps, I think they're up for grabs

I'm guessing that all stormtroopers recieve training for operating in the snow, but there might be special regiments that are trained exclusively for frigid conditions

maybe if they hack the code or ask how shattered faith did it smile

It has to do with the player model skeleton in the BF:2 engine.  The skeleton only comes in one size, and the ewoks are too small
