Re: 'Button up!'

F10?

OK, let me try to be more clear. You know how when you were in a Higgins Boat landing craft in BF1942, you could hold your down key to lower the hatch, and your up key to raise it - or the other way around? I'm envisioning this for the hatches over the AT-STs' two cockpit viewports, as well as for other tank hatches.

Implement an interior for the walker and make it so that when you're inside, you actually see out through the view port, with the enemy being able to shoot you when the hatch is open. When it's closed, you've got to rely on I don't know what. I seem to remember that GC had this monitor (really just a transparent image that let you see out of the walker) set in the cockpit between the two hatches, so that when you were in seat one, you had the hatch and that 'computer image of the battlefield'. I just Googled for a screenshot on that, but couldn't find any. Or you could come up with some other way to give the player a limited view of what's outside.

Re: 'Button up!'

F9

If you press it, it removes the cockpit so that there is no obstruction of the view. I don't know if there is a way the devs could work around that.

Re: 'Button up!'

Simple.

Either,

A: delete the camera F9 uses

or

B: place the camera for F9 at the same place the normal view is but in the MODEL of the ATST.

We just don't add that camera position. For a while yuo were locked into cockpit view on our space maps but that was removed to allow more interesting filming/screenshot taking I belive.

Re: 'Button up!'

t'would be cool. This finally means that snipers can actually take out the driver and pinch the vehicle. There might be an annoying strategy that would be slapping a demo-pack on the hatch and blowing it up as soon as someone gets in. It would kill them, but not the AT-ST. Then again, the AT-ST is rather tall...

Re: 'Button up!'

Well, while I didn't play it myself, the very first release of GC had AT-STs which you could shoot into. Problem was the players couldn't close the hatches, so you'd apparently have AT-ST drivers killed en masse by sniper fire as they brought their walkers to bear on the Rebel trenches. So the developers gave the walkers invisible blaster-proof plexi-glass for the next release.

Maybe you could lob a grenade into the hatch as well?
