I dislike the idea pretty strongly as it's pretty clear to me there never was a battle at Alderaan. It's a peaceful, neutral planet, not to mention that they have no weapons so it'd have to be a fist-fight map. Heh, that could be an idea - First Strike Karate Mini-Mod tongue .

Never a battle according to who?

There was never a battle on Tatooine but you see countless games using it as a stage. Even so, other games arnt lore. They make stuff up to fill the lack of battles seen or mentioned in the movies. Some people even see these made up battles from computer games as lore. Whats the difference between us and ,say, Pandemic?

As long as we dont contradict the storyline of SW then theres no problem.

Remember , Alderaan was at the centre of the birth of the Rebel Alliance. I may be mistaken but i believe they had silver weapons in ROTS.

It's clearly mentioned in Ep IV Alderaan was a pacifist world without weapons according to Leia, if there had been an armed conflict surely Tarkin would have mentioned that.

Should we get rid of Mos Espa then? wink

Re: Alderaan map

I didn't hear anyone say Mos Espa was a peaceful pacifist world and it actually had a garrision staioned there.

Re: Alderaan map

I think it's pretty clearly laid out in the movies that Alderaan is a pacifist neutral planet, that's what makes it's destruction in that movie so brutal. If there had been engagements of any sort between the Rebels and the Empire on Alderaanian soil that would totally change the dynamic of that scene.

Mentioning Tatooine as a potential battleground is totally different, it's a pretty lawless (so you're not going to have to much trouble packing weapons as it the norm in a harsh place like that) world, there is a limited Imperial presense on this world. but it's also on the fringe, with Mos Eisley being a hotbed of crime, and a hub of illegal traffiking, so there's all sorts of dodgy stuff going on. Anything can happen out in the desert, so basically it's a location ripe for a little scrap between the Rebs and Imps.

Re: Alderaan map

actually in the originals they make that clear, but prior to the empire they weren't, the only reason they were after the empire is they had to be careful as the rebels had a lot of things going on, so they had to fool ppl about there ties. also the other reason itd be good is because the castle the tactics invloved, but unlike a place like naboo, alderaan has a lot of open area too, where as naboo is just like a maze

About tarkin he would not have mentioned it, because why would he be thinking about 20 years ago at the birth of the empire, he was more concerned with the way vader disapproved of a lot of what he was doing and how he hired people that kept disobeying orders(at least in vaders eyes, vader just needed a reason to kill his own men)

Re: Alderaan map

Im not sayin Alderaan people v Empire. Obviously itd be rebels v empire. Doesnt change the scene in ANH at all.

Anyway, im done discussing 'lore' .

Re: Alderaan map

Dude... Where are you getting these ideas of how Alderaan is layed out ceverson? Seems like speculation to me hmm

Naboo has open spaces just as well as tight streets. You can see the proof in EP 1-3

Theres only 1 or 2 shots of Alderaan in ep 3 How are you coming up with this?
