You would almost certainly have to put in auto turrets to defend the Interdictors well enough. You could make Interdictors having only a max of five people seated in it, one controlling each battery and one driving. You could also do the same to Hammerheads, putting auto turrets on the front, in the trenchs, and on the top and bottom. Hammerheads would also need to have a hanger of some sort on them. To code the Star Forge, all you would need is a very, very , very large prop with large openings in it. In those openings, you put multiple vehicle spawns in it, say 2 openings that spawn a combined total of 6 capital ships?

There are autocontrollers for turrets that CAN be used. But using regular AI bots in large numbers like 256-512 that would be flying ships is just impossible for the BF engine... and 99.9% of peoples machines.


If you guys want to test it out yourself, go into your AI folder find AIdefault, find the line that has the number of bots in it, (16) and change it to like 80. You will be getting lag I bet. And thats not even all of them driving vehicles yet. Turrets however are much simpler.

So only about 40 bots at a time? If so, then their probably going to have to be in turrets.

still....for a movie maker there is some potential...and like wars would be fun, like a Tourney but its set up Crusade style, with Sith have to get to get to Dantooine and the Republic need to get to the Star Forge...and like maps in the middle, the first tourney map is Taris then if Sith win the maps begin to move towards Dantooine and the next map along that line but if Rebuplic win the next map moves towards the Star Forge big_smile:D:D:D

I don't know if it's engine limits or that you'd just need a quad Xeon setup to run it, if that's the case, well if anyone has a few spares I'm willing to try it tongue

Too bad with so much bots you'd hardly ever shoot humans, but maybe give every player a 3 man bot squad? That way every squad you'd meet would have at least 1 person, so you can shoot him first then his bots tongue

What about making their difficulty level normal, and making it so that bot kills don't take away tickets? Is that possible?

And Dutch, on a full server, your idea would mean there'd be about 200 bots running around.

I would think the best idea is making only about 60 bots, and having AI turrets on ships.

guy's i have some drawings of maps for a kotor mod if you like,just basic ideas,maps of Tatooine race track,and just finished one for Coruscant,it would be intresting to see Coruscant at the start,with less high buildings,and air trafic,and more street,with pedestrians. ... yea i'm a kotor fan,played kotor 1 for some years,mostly i try to get more and more incredibile times at swoop racing(my passion) and win lots of money on pazaak(my love). if you want to see and hear my ideas talk to me on yahoo messenger.;)
