Very very nice pics. Since I don't know a clue about moding I'll aske the question. Does BF2 engine support normal mapping ?
If yes then you can have very high details on low poly model. It was introduced with Max 7. All you have to do is to make a high poly model then render the model into the texture and afterwards you apply the texture on the low poly model with normal map moddifier.
Advantage with this is the fact that you keep your model on very low poly count but you have alot of details on your model which can cast shadows.
