My shortcut reads like this if it helps anyone

"C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\Battlefield 2142\BF2142.exe" +modPath mods/FirstStrike +menu 1 +fullscreen 1 +szx 1680 +szy 1050 +eaAccountName youraccountname +eaAccountPassword yourpassword +soldierName yoursoldiername

If you move the movies to a backup folder then you are straight into the main menu.

I think people who've done well enough to afford a nice widescreen TFT deserve an advantage tongue

Try not to revive old topics, but if you change +fullscreen 1 to +widescreen 1 your HUD will not be distorted.  Also if you use the tool posted above your FOV will reflect your viewing aspect ratio properly.

wut. Gaming is not about buying skill. This does not apply to GPU and CPU as the graphics level can be changed and not effect game play. But being able to see more then other players just because you can afford a wide-screen monitor is far too much of an advantage then say a gaming mouse.

well, the ws-fixer never got updated for 1.4, and i doubt it will ever be...

It works fine for 1.4, 1.4 Beta 3 is 1.4, I use it every day.
