True, but Yoda did say that Luke and Leia were the last of the jedi, so that would mean that Obi Wan, Yoda, Luke and Leia were the only jedis alive during eps. 4-6

so there really wouldn't be a need to have lightsabers be available in movie battles because no-one would have been using them.
