I allready explained what a torrent is, and linked to plenty of information about it.

Re: FS torrent release?

In short, you download a microscopic file called a torrent, and then feed it into Torrent program like BitTorrent or Azereus (sp.?), which then starts downloading the actual file for you, in bits and pieces from fixed sites and others who have downloaded it. Once you've downloaded the mod file, you help others download it by hosting it. All you have to do is leave it in the directory you downloaded it to.

As for download means, have LucasFiles host both a torrent and a zip. Or include the torrent in the zip. That'll work too big_smile .

Re: FS torrent release?

Inlcuding the torrent in the zip sort of defeats the purpose of downloading via torrent eh? tongue

Re: FS torrent release?

I do not see the torrent, its typicaly slower then direct downloading and very variable.

If you want to pause downloads just get a download manager and pause, stop, resume any regular direct download.   Torrents should remain for small/illegal stuff that does not want alot of publicity.  A mod like this can get hosted on big fast servers so torrenting is unnecisary.

http://www.gamershell.com/ has some nice servers on it wink

You are so wrong its hard to describe with words.

First of all, torrents is indeed the fastest way to download things if there are enough good seeders, and you are qualified enough to configure a few settings.
Secondly, torrents are ideal for large files, legal or not. Its often small files that are unnecessary to host on torrent(unless you have a very slow connection.
And while I'm sure this mod wont have any problems finding mirrors like Gamershell, crowded public mirrors just isnt enough for us with decent connections(20mbit+).
