Back on topic...
Here are some screenies from a little scrap we had on Taloraan last night. We had some good fleet tactics going despite the fact it was only a 5 or 6 a side game. I took command of the Imperial Fleet and directed my team mates to bring the Carrack Cruiser forward into play using the Freighter for support in tight formation to protect it from enemy fire. With the Freighter constantly repairing the Carrack she went head to head with the enemy Nebulon-B, the Rebel Transport was moving in to assist. That is where I came in, approaching from another vector in a Lancer I directed our craft to focus all fire on their Frigate while I concentrated my firepower on the Gallofree Transport. My turbolasers made short work of that, and my surprise attack meant that with the Frigate distracted I was able to outflank it while taking little to no damage. The Rebels' Corvettes were now moving into position to assist, but too late. We were already in a prime position with all our ships able to lay fire across the Nebulon_B from all sides.

And it was only a matter of time before she went down.

I had taken quite a bit of damage to my flanks from the approaching Corvettes, but not before our job was done. I then directed the fleet to concentrate all fire on one target at a time to maximise the damage inflicted in the least time. Now was the tricky part, I was now in a tactically problematic position as far as the approaching Corvettes were concerned and had to execute some evasive manoeuvres. One Corvette instantly took out the Freighter while the other and my ship jockeyed for position, both ships inflicting heavy damage with a close range broadside barrage in the process.

Unfortunately my already damaged Lancer couldn't take the punishment and perished in that engagement. However the fleet managed to avenge me and my crew by swiftly taking the enemy ship out of play. I then brought in our final Lancer as an 11th hour cavalry to come to the assistance of our battle scarred Carrack. Heavy enemy starfighters now came into play with the Rebels only having one capital ship remaining and my approach to the hotspot of the battle was racked by heavy torpedo bombardment. As I fully entered the fray the last Corvette turned to engage the fresh enemy supported by wave after wave of heavy B-Wing Starfighters.

Once within weapons range we let rip with everything we had, their own turbolasers tearing into our hull. Finally with a last burst of fire aimed directly at their bridge section the Corvette erupted, and after a hard fought battle victory was ours.

For the Empire!

Thanks for the good games last night all who played.
