Re: Single Player mini-mod WIP

That's it ! smile Now if you'd just start a download from

http://www.battlefieldsingleplayer.com/ … ld1013.zip

and check the displayed filesize (of course you don't need to complete the download, just start it, check it, and cancel it) you should see what I mean ...

The size of the zip that can be downloaded from there is 684 MB (717 367 808 Bytes) ... at least I get a zip of that size from there, with whatever downloader I try to download it.

Hmm, I will reupload.

Re: Single Player mini-mod WIP

Thanx. Ok, just to check it (before I'd download another 1 GB+ of incomplete zip smile ) now I see a filesize of 1.14 GB (1 228 553 609 Bytes) on download. Is this size correct ?

yes, that is what I get when I check the download link, but I just downloaded it and got the full size:  1,199,760

Re: Single Player mini-mod WIP

I think I've found out what's the cause of the difference between the filesize what I see and the filesize what you see on the download.

Sir, I'm afraid we're talking about 2 different types of GigaByte big_smile

I've been knowing 2 definitions of it so far:

1.) 1 GB = 1024x1024x1024 Bytes = 1 073 741 824 Bytes - this is the most accepted as far I know it and this is what I use

2.) 1 GB = 1000x1000x1000 Bytes = 1 000 000 000 Bytes - used to define data storage capacity of HDDs and CDs/DVDs

It seems for me that you use a 3rd type I haven't heard of yet smile :

3.) 1 GB = 1024x1000x1000 Bytes = 1024 000 000 Bytes.

This is why - I guess - we better put out all of the digits one by one beside / instead of the Gigs in cases like this since a size of a zip must be completely accurate, if there's just 1 single byte of difference (in even a zip of the size of 1 TeraByte) it makes that zip partially or even completely unreadable.

Anyways I consider your answer as you've completed a re-download check and found the file ok, thanx.

Re: Single Player mini-mod WIP

Ok I've downloaded & installed BF 2142 official v1.51 final and First Strike v1.4 & FS_SP work with it. To tell the truth, any of the FS updates I got from you guys - either of Gwynzer's and Dnamro's - didn't really solve the CTD issue I'm experiencing on FS_SP Bandomeer Refinery & other atmospheric dogfight map(s), but - with BF 2142 v1.51 final - at least it seems we'll know a lil' bit more about the problem and I guess this may help to improve any of the FS_SP/conquest coop maps which include flying crafts based on FS v1.5.

Firstly the FS version I use : FS v1.4.1000 updated with Dnamro's FS v1.4.1013 pack.

My experience that could help is : when BF 2142 reaches to a CTD, BF 2142 v1.51 final doesn't just quit without any single message like BF 2142 v1.50 does, but it displays a standard system application error message and puts report into the OS event log. I've checked this log and found that the error occurs in the file ...\Battlefield 2142\AIDLL.dll , what - if that's anything to go by - seems to me an error that comes from one or more events in the game what AI engine/code is not prepared for.

Another improvement I experience with BF 2142 v1.51 is that a glitchy and badly bothering explosion effect I had on Bandomeer Refinery with v1.50 is fixed now.

Additionaly - this is BF 2142 version independent - it seems to me that if I set up rebel vs imperial player number ratio to 1:3 on Bandomeer Refinery (keeping the number of all players!), breakdowns happen more rarely.

Lastly, I see an issue on all atmospheric dogfight maps what I guess is solved on conquest mode versions of these maps that if a player (meant human player, not sure if it's not true for bots as well) tries to get in a starfighter craft of the opposing team, that makes BF 2142 CTD. Additionally I experienced this on another atmospheric df map when as a rebel player I tried to get inside a stationary shield dome of the imperial team.
