I agree with most of blahoslavia's suggestions, especially with regards to the X-Wing sights, which goes for most other ships sights, there needs to be a way of setting their transparency, or thin them down a little.  But I imagine increased HUD customisation is already in development.  Here's some of my other thoughts:

Space Maps:

- You should get some points for piloting the rebel ships to safety.  It's a bit disheartening to go all that way, make the jump, and just die!

- Destroying the guns on the Star Destroyer should earn you some strategic points, especially the big ones (which, as blahoslavia suggests, should be controllable as on the Titans). 

- Also, being able to destroy the side cannons on the other ships, thus killing their occupants, would give you something specific to aim for to earn points, instead of simply hoping that you'll be the one that fires that final magic shot that destroys the ship and gets you all the glory!

- Having more areas to run around inside the bigger ships would be good, I like the bit inside the SD hanger.  I know there's obvious lag issues, but it would make it feel more like BF than 'X-wing'.

- Being able to lock missiles is another must, or at least lock Ion missiles to disable the enemy (by the way, do the Ion weapons actually have any effect at the moment? As they don't appear to).

- Is there any way to repair the big ships? It would be good if you could give functionality to some ships to be able to repair the Rebel fleet by flying near them, the Y-Wings or B-Wings perhaps?  This would make it mutually beneficial for the fighters to stay close to the big ships, instead of leaving them to fend for themselves, which often happens.

- Change or remove the BF2142 alarm that sounds when you're low on shields/hull, it's too loud and grating!  You're more likely to spend time flying a seriously damaged ship than you were in BF2142, so it's a sound you hear way too often!

Infantry Maps:

- The Medic and Ammo droids need a wider arc of effect on teammates.  As a medic, I find that holding a can of Bacta is better for healing teammates than the droids, so it would be good if the droid's effect was enhanced somehow.

- Grenades seem a bit clunky and don't seem to fly far, or is that just me being a bit rubbish?

- Endor: Love this map, but you need to do something about the colours of the textures, the trees are way too red, and ground too green, giving it a cartoony feel. The colours should be more naturalistic and muted.  The landscape itself is perfect.

- More Walkers! I'm not sure if you've got so few AT-STs due to lag issues, but I think the Infantry maps would benefit from a few more vehicles. The AT-STs don't tend to last as long as the BF2142 Walkers, so having more of them per map would redress the balance a bit.

- Ships on infantry maps? I wasn't going to mention this as I'm certain it's in the works, but it was one of the things I most loved most about GC; flying around in X-Wings, TIEs and T-16s and blasting troops and Walkers on the ground!


So far I'm loving it. The space maps are way better than I'd imagined, and the designs of the ships are just beautiful (I spent my first time playing Escape from Hoth just flying around the Star Destroyer just to look at all the fantastic detail! - great work).

The 'Push' maps are a brilliant idea too, giving you more reason to work as a team, in both defense and attack.  Love it :-)

^^ I say replace this with a R2 or Imperial Droid "screm"..... that would be more fitting me thinks.

the gallofree and bulk should repair the larger ships, if not, then i missed the point in testing where we removed that.
but keep the suggestions coming people.

Little reminder: It's disabled by ion cannon fire from Hoth wink .

That one got me, too. I was looking at a screenshot and thinking, 'what the f', how can that X-Wing fly that close to the damned Star Destroyer... ... [slaps forehead] Oooooooh, right!'.

I would like to see some kind of guide for the space wars as I have know clue how to get repaired , re-armed or how to win besides ticket count. When trying to get answer from others they seen to be about as clueless as I am.

I do really like this Mod and the ground maps were pretty self explanitory once I farted around with the unlock and weapons and was even better once I got the guide for the weapons & such.

Re-arm/repair:  fly near a gallofree transport or the transport ship for the imps (except on Hoth, imps don't have any there)


to win: @ escort map, fly the gallofree transports to the jump point on the map. Imps need to destroy 50% of these to win.


@fleet engagement map, destroy all enemy capital ships.

minor correction: if the imp destoy only 50% its a draw. they need more then 50%
