Re: makeing the mod into its own game

EA is so chang........

To tell you the truth, I probably wouldn't have bought this game if it was a stand alone product.

Not because it's not good enough (it certainly will be when it's completed maps-wise and such, plus it probably woulda gotten it's own modified engine), but because I'm not much into star wars, and was jaded by the failure that was battlefront.

However if your asking me is it good enough to sell as a stand alone game, the answer is yes.

Why would they need the guys that made the engine if they already have it? You want people that coded the engine just to stick around and eat pizza all day?

Because, purely hypothetically speaking, that engine might have a few bugs that needs fixing. wink

And those not fixing bugs could be put to work on the engine for the next game.
We know that they have made a new engine for Bad Company, so they must have kept a team around anyway.

It is one thing to buy a engine from the outside, with support contracts etc.
But outsourcing the core of your application and then letting the whole team go is a recipe for disaster.
There is no-one left who really understands how it works

Not nessesarily, EA the chang ones coulda hired the engine team again (or hired different ones), to make bad comany's engine.

The second paragraph, I quote for truth.
