OK, so today on Endor Strike Team the Imperials decided to dig in hard in the Imperial Outpost and hold it at all costs. We Rebs fought like wolves, but to no avail. It was after seeing my squad wiped out for the hundredth time that I noticed an AT-ST sitting solemnly in the north-eastern corner of the map. Some minutes later, it was still there. OK, I think, I'll try to steal it, it might just shift the tide.
So when I die, I respawn at Scout Camp, just in time to see someone (I won't mention names, but you know who you are) spawn there and take off with a speeder bike all by his lonesome without thinking of picking me up (taking bikes without taking passengers is something he did 3-5 times this round alone, for the record
), so I decide to walk it. All the way over at the Imperial Outpost a couple of stormies have gotten off of a bike to kill Rebels, and now the bike sits there all by itself. Splendid. I trek all the way there, following the grey little icon, and just as I reach it - boom, it self-destructs.
So I re-join the fray and when I find myself killed again I respawn at Scout Camp and with no [noob's name redacted] there this time, I acquire a speeder bike, which I then manage to get all the way to the parked AT-ST. Finally, I think, as I hop in, get comfortable in the driver's seat, and proudly announce to my team that a "stolen walker is en-route".
This is when I'm pursued and destroyed by a Support player on a speeder bike, who first bleeds my HP down to below 50, and then kills me when I finally drop enough of my dignity to bail from the walker and confront him.
The damn thing had been sitting there for five to ten freaking minutes and just as I go get it, someone else decide they want it. No, wait, they didn't want it - according to him, he was all the way out there for a smurfing speeder bike.
I'd roar if only it'd be heard across the Intertubes.
"One of the bitches actually gave birth while she was attacking, and her puppies joined in on the carnage."
