yeah this is a great idea but it might be hard to find a landing spot on a shipyard

well what the devs could add maybe is a way to move down when you press S when you're in the radius of the ship yard, that way you could land easily.

The shipyard in X-Wing Alliance has plenty of space for landing. And either way, you can't exit your fighter anyhow, so why do you need a landing spot in the first place? Or do you mean for landing craft carrying troops as passengers (the way APCs carry troops)?

dunno if getting into a fighter should be a one way thing. but it would stop people using them just for transport
