Re: attack on fondor ship yard
Ok, no. I'd like to see dedicated troop transports, as well. I'm just saying that not being able to get out of a fighter -- while testing lagueriniere's map, for example -- can get really annoying. Technically, if you stopped your fighter in the middle of empty space, you could probably get out of your fighter as well (and fall for 5-10 minutes). So, stopping/landing isn't necessarily a complete solution. It would stop the usual "Oh, no! My fighter's about to blow up, so I'll bail out! At least the enemy won't get another kill out of me..." thing.

Today's spelling/grammar tip: There = a (sometimes conceptual) place. "There is my car." or "There is such a thing as magic." // Their = posessive. "Their meat is full of worms." // They're = contraction of <they are>. "They're crazy!" // "They're trying to put their shoes up there."

it would be quite funny to see people jumping from their fighters.

Well, if you fall for 5-10 minutes, at least that'd allow people to chase you. N00b: Oh, darn, beeping tone, does that mean... oh, smurf, 4% hit points, bail! [bails and starts to fall] [keeps falling] N00b: OK, this is taking its damned time. But at least I got away from that... [looks up, sees TIE Interceptor bearing down on him] N00b: Oh smurf...

Re: attack on fondor ship yard
I think someone was told to eject in A New Hope. When he was chased by TIEs in the trench? I'd actually like a system in which pilots could eject, for then to hang suspended in space unti recovered (done by hitting 'e' near a transport such as a lambda class shuttle come to recover you). I think this would mean the pilot would have to be unarmed, though, and you would possibly have to attach floaters to the player model, which would make walking around in the hangar bay before boarding a fighter really strange.
