Re: Moving in capital ships?

Well, crap. Was hoping to see it, considering that was one of my favorite parts of GC.
...i wonder, is it possible (im not saying, "DO IT!" im just saying, is it possible?) to find the lines of code in BF1942 allowing you to walk in fast moving objects and transfer it over to the 2142 code?

Re: Moving in capital ships?

Remember that no one's saying boarding won't happen. My guess is it's very likely to happen, especially if it's up to me - just not of moving ships. It'll be stationary vessels or space stations.

I dont think you can copy and paste a piece of someones brain into another persons brain, same probably applies here.

Well, i'm just wondering this because they are relatively similar games, so i would expect it to be possible since they all play pretty much the same way, you wouldn't really have to change anything that relates to the gameplay in the code.

Re: Moving in capital ships?

that space station boarding stuff sounds kind of like the space missions in unreal tournament 04 where you gotta blow up the shield generators (kind of like episode 3 when anikan hits a generator by the landing bay) and then you land your ship in the bay and try to blow up the capitol ship. very fun gameplay

Re: Moving in capital ships?

Bad Analogy Warning:

The Matrix was similar to the real world but what Neo could do in the Matrix he couldn't do in the real world (stop bullets, fly, kick general pie). Think of 1942 as the Matrix, it had ships it had carriers, it could even have fighters carried in these carriers that could be brought up from below deck in the mod Forgotten Hope. Now think of 2142 as the real world, its crap, the people in control ruined all the good stuff (ships).

The point that was totally missed due to the bad analogy: YOU CAN NOT MAKE 2142 LIKE 1942 JUST BECAUSE THEY BOTH HAVE GUNS.

This is sad this is depressing but this is the truth.

N-O

Here's something you can hope for:

A Star Destroyer and a Mon Cal across from each other, with fake laser effects being traded off between them exploding all over the ships. Spawns in hte ships hangers, and turret control rooms...

Some other spawns into Corvettes, Lancers, Carracks, Dreadnoughts, and Nebulon Bs.

Maybe some space junk and destroyed sh!t floating around...

Now if that doesn't give you an E-Boner...

You are impossible to please.

I am not saying that will necessarily be made, but its perfectly possible.
