Re: Moving in capital ships?

I think one of the problems of the Titans Interors was due to its complex interior design.   A simple 2d moving ship would not have as many problems.   Titans also had to keep up with 14 destroyable objects along with other things.

A simple "I" shaped or "I" with another line in the middle shaped interior w/o any destroyable objects would work a heck of alot smoother then a Titan moving.   Mabey make only 2 on each side have interors or something.

It can be done by sacraficing the full 3d movement and having simple interiors.

Re: Moving in capital ships?

It doesn't matter how complex they are really, just the fact that they are moving and players are in contact with the moving of the object, which stresses the servers to calculate the collisions, which causes lag.

Hey, i got another one of my crazy ideas. For those of you who saw my "Pieces of Capital Ships" Post, think about this: What if all the ships could move around the map like they do now, and then an enemy ship could come up behind a capital ship and disable it's engines, so it would be disabled and immobile. Then you could take some sort of boarding craft and board the disabled ship and take it over. The disabled ship could still have working turrets so it would have some kind of defense, but it would also have interiors because it would not be moving. It could work, couldn't it?

Why not just have it static from the begining?

how big are the capital ships. you cant really tell in space. how would you even board them. and what about the rebel team. would they be able to jump out of the turrets or something when the ship is disabled.

i prefer to have transport ships for attacking large stationary capital ships. one big battle instead of lots of little ones.
