BF2 is pretty crap,but there are some great mods for it.
I recommend Project Reality,if you like realism and teamwork.
Pirates,if you like going "Arrgh!" etc
and some other ones which I haven't played but which are supposed to be great

after playing bf2 i am not looking forward to bf3

why cant dice do the obvious thing and hire the devs and make a deal with Lucas arts. its obvious

sames, and with the upgrades it was even better.  You are right, the rest of the battlefield 2142 maps were not as good, but Northern Strike maps and Tampa Highway are soooooooo much fun
