Re: Idea for rather drastic Mos Espa change

TY2DY2 check this http://www.insurgencymod.net/

other than a few bugged Sniper Rifles its solid.

Re: Idea for rather drastic Mos Espa change

Yea so few people play, because of the bugs and such, and maybe the gameplay, which tells me we need a drastic change, but it won't happen its wishful thinking I suppose.

I didn't want to compare it to CS hehe...

Been there done that Lance, I didn't like it.

Re: Idea for rather drastic Mos Espa change

Yes, people are going to complain about this. Sudden increases in challenge level are often criticized by a significant number of people. It's like how every time an MMORPG nerfs an overpowered weapon, the forums get flooded with 'OMG MY 1337 BLASTOR IS NOW USELESS THIS GAME NOW SUXX!!!11'. I can live with that, as I believe that if this works, it'll be such a great addition that people accept it eventually.

Safe has been thinking about PR I bet tongue

Don't quite know what gave me the idea, but seeing how successful this system is in PR is admittedly one of my reasons for posting this thread - I know it can work very well.

Having said that, though, I still think most maps should work as before, it's just that Mos Espa is so very suited in my eyes to this kind of gameplay that I think it'd be a shame not to implement it.

How many times have you gotten a lift from sombody who just brings you to the middle of nowhere where neither of you are usefull.

Then tell them before you leave where you need a lift to. As a driver, send 'where to?' before starting to drive. It's not really that hard.

You know, there are times when I contemplate making a realism version of FS once the mod has a big, stable fan base. You know, the same way those other people made a realism version of Desert Combat. Make it more of a PR-style experience. Will probably never happen, though tongue .

Re: Idea for rather drastic Mos Espa change

Run and Gun is great for UT or Quake or single-player games but when its online it needs to be more thought out....

Thats a shame TY, the beta 2 is good but since I only joined recently I can't say either way other than me liking it smile

While we're at it would it be possible to remove the speeder bikes from Espa's 64 map? the reason is that they wont be used like bikes but they'll be used as Arial Insertion vehicles (hit a ramp fly high land at Flag X).
