Back on topic: in my opinion a 2142 movie wouldn't be that good unless they seriously changed the storyline in it seeing as there are no "hero" people in it to save the day (thats what most people like, right?). I always thought about a movie made out of halo... but maybe thats goin a little to far...

Eh, it could be made that way, though. A squad of different people could be the 'heroes'. Perhaps we occasionally see the Commander on the bridge of his Titan, agonizing over putting his men in harm's way. I could easily see it done as an anime. Wait, maybe I have. Robotech: Macross saga, anyone? wink

Yeah, and that female computer voice could sing through each battle: "This is my time to be a staaaar!" tongue

Uhm what story would that be? BF2142 was not MEANT to have a strong story... I mean come on! ITs a game that gives us an excuse for a third world war and some fancy new vehicles to tear each other apart. Now the 2142 universe is very flimsy because it was meant to be, they were making a purely multiplayer game that survives only on want of the players to play more.

Story =/= multiplayer shooters

Now could they take some core elements of 2142 and add an interesting plot, characters, and good writing? Yes, they very easily could. Would it be good? You'd be surprised that even a bad gimicky setting wouldnt ruin good movie; Saving Private Ryan anyone?

It can be done, thing is it would have to be less about shooting the other guys and more about the characters, world politics, and plot device X.  I'd rather see it as a miniseries or books than as a movie.

Oh yeah.... ROBOTECH FTW!!! except Minmie... she's a bitch.
