I think Conquest would be best myself. Or maybe Objective, in which you are to destroy something important in a ship or station, like Imperials destroying contraband or something.

I think that is a great idea Keeper.  I can see Rebels having to destroy some experimental technology that the Imps are making or Imps having to destroy something the Rebs took from them.  Either way something objective based sounds really good to me.

Why not have the rebels attack a construction hanger in space, which houses 3 prototype TIE-Advanced that the rebels have to destroy, either by blowing them up with explosives or firing missiles (one of the prototypes can be outside, and the other two inside). The rebels can attack in blockade runners, by launching starfighters or escape pods, and the Imps defend with ground troups, laser turrets and TIEs launched form a nearby STD, plus a couple Imperial cruisers to hold off the larger ships....

...oh, hang on, that sounds familiar...

Seriously though, if you want good ideas about how to do good boarding maps you need look no further than FS's tabooed predecessor.  Some were a bit rough round the edges, but they certainly didn't lack imagination.

See the next post wink . This was in Galactic Conquest, aka That Other Mod We Don't Talk About So As Not To Hurt Bandu's Feelings.

Also discussed is the tried and true Conquest mode. Just make a map featuring various compartments with various functions (bridge, galley, brig, crew quarters, armoury, cargo decks, flight decks, engines, etc., and have them be control points. Then fight for the ship or station. I'd love a richly detailed Tantive IV.

What I also would love would be some sort of labyrinthine interior of a space station or space dock or whatever. Think the interiors you could fly into in  the Repair Yard station in X-Wing Alliance. That kind of tunnels, except a rather huge maze. I made something like that for that game, and it was big fun.

lol...something i mentioned earlier: Disabling ships. Maybe you could disable the ship from the outside, board it, then destroy/capture something important on the inside.

Thats Titan Mode, and Titan ist Laggy with more than 32 Players.

The only way to avoid this lag, is to make the ship stationary, like the StarDestroyer at
"Escape from Hoth"
This will allow to walk & fight in the ship, acces to the ship from the outside may be possible through destroyable hatches (C4) or the hangars & docking bays.

Destroy/capture somthing important on the ship would be a objective mode.
Example:
In "A New Hope" impirial Stormtroopers storm a Rebellship to capture Leia. If this objective is achived, they won.

In BF Terms on player could be Leia (using the commandervote function ?) and the imps win if leia is killed.

Capture the ship will be take control of key stations of the ship like the bridge, the engine room ect...
In BF Terms this is classical Conquest, the stations being flags. At some stations Vehicles like fighters will spawn or items like AA guns can be used.

Destroyble Items on the outside of the ship should also be not impossible.
Think of the AA Guns on the StarDestroyer at Escape from Hoth.
Also Possible were to place a UAV "Trailer" on it.
Should be even possible to make "Destroyable Engines" - even if the ship isn't realy moving (becaus the titan server lag). Destroying the Engine may the first sub-objective to reach, like destoying the consoles in TITAN.

Disabling the ship would make it stationary. Disable it, it drifts into a right-side up position, it could be instantly replaced with a static object complete with interior. Blow a hole in the side, board it,
[insert objective here].
