That certainly helped narrow it down. smile  There are so many vertical scrolling shooters, nearly all of them where you fly an airplane, it's hard to keep 'em apart.

But, this one would be Same! Same! Same! (pronounced sah-may) in Japan. Here, I think it was... Fire Shark, right?
