Re: Modding links

As i said in my last post, I have decided to try modelling, this is my first model:

I know its not all that great but i think it a pretty good first model. Does any one have any good Gmax tutorials that teach an absolute beginner the basics?

I would particularly like to know;
How to join objects together?
A a general rule of thumb, how small does an object need to be before it can be ignored and just be skinned on?
Any other tips and tricks to make, good models

Here a new, better Pic:

(The model looks far better in wire frame mode)

General Un-Co,

Re: Modding links

If one of your objects is not an editable mesh yet (you only need one to be), I believe you select one of the objects that will be apart of the final object, then right click on it, then Covert To:> Covert To Editable Mesh. Then in the Modfier Rollout (the little blue arch at the top of the right panel), with the editable mesh object still selected, scroll down til you see "attach list" button, hit it. A window will pop up, in the list to the left, select all the objects you want to be apart of this object, then hit Attach.

This is actually covered in the first Tutorial thats on the Turbo Squid Site.

Re: Modding links

Probably, and Un-Co, it is a rather nice model, well done.

Also, I find it easier to model with Blender, then export it to Gmax for exporting into the BF2 editor.

The website is www.blender.org if your interested.
