Hmmm.... I've been off FS for a while (damned 2142 problems) so I didnt even get 1.2 , but seeing you guys even released 1.3 big_smile
Ok , haven't seen what's new yet , this mod is enough of a reason to reinstall 2142.

I have Vista and Nvidia 8600, only problem I ever had with FS was yavin and playing it in windowed mode works just fine.

Even Microsoft admits that XP SP3 is a faster, more efficient OS for gaming applications than any version of Vista...

I have recently installed vista and I would have to agree that it has pros and cons. There are things I love about it and things I despise, all tolled it isn't bad enough to revert back, nor is it good enough that I don't, wish I was using XP from time to time.  Too me it is really a matter of personal opinion more than anything.

I feel I have to compliment the dev team for listening to the community.  The shooting is so much better the game is far more enjoyable on that fix alone.  The other improvements are a bonus imo.  I am working alot so haven't had long to get my teeth into 1.3 as of yet, but from what little I have played it is out standing.

To the Vista user.  Any self reaspecting gamer would have researched Vista and found it unreliable with older games.  I recommend you dual boot (google it) and it doesn't matter if you have 4-8 gig of ram either.  Xp will utilise only 2 anyway, you can get it to use 3 but then you lose dual channel and that ain't worth it.  I have Xp 32 on a 500 gig hardrive and vista 64 on a seperate 500 gig hardrive.  I have to go into bios and swap the boot order for what ever OS I want to use.  Simple

Actually, if you use XP 64 it will recognize up to 4 Gigs (maybe even 8, I can't recall exactly) but XP 64 has a lot of downsides compared to XP 32.  Also, I've found a lot of PC users, Vista or XP, don't even realize they have wasted RAM in there anyways, so I wouldn't consider it a big negative. (Not that you were saying it was)

Dual boot is a good idea, though, for a lot of people.  I think personally I'd end up using XP and never touching Vista though, can really do everything I need on XP.
