I'd be more careful with those dubious tips...Its everybody's choice to keep it off or on, but please dont recommend sacrificing basic safety precautions to everybody in here. Many of those prolly dont even know what UAC is or what it does.

Anyone who spends all day surfing scam deserves everything they get
UAC is an awful, intrusive, annoying program that does nothing a good anti virus, malware or spyware program can't happily sort should, and its unlikely, you get a problem. I've had UAC turned off from day one with vista with no problems at all.
