Re: Time to welcome back the FS CGs!

No idea if the comments were a little tongue in cheek there or not hmm

Missed the games this weekend cause RL is cropping up more and more at the minute. Shame really as I quite miss the old FS games. Will try to get on this week. As the kids get older though they obviously require more time and naturally family takes precedence.

Anyway, back to this clan stacking thing. Was it clan stacking? Were people joining then trying to team swap to join clan buddies? Or was there a concerted effort by clan members waiting for an oppurtunity to join the game only when teams were off balanced, so that they naturally appeared to join that team and couldn't possibly be blamed because the game did it?

Now, I personally do not have a problem with clan stacking, except when it causes the game to start becmoing unbalanced. I play games for fun, I accept losses with wins (though anyone that plays with me knows how I hate to see things go wrong!), but if one team is consistently hammering the other by a large margin, then I would say it is stacked and would prefer to see something done to balance it.

I too prefer to be on the same team as my clan mates, or other people I have fun playing the game with. I've joined the game on the same team as a couple of BI members and joined them on vent/teamspeak. I find it fun and enjoyable being part of a squad that is often the only one using team work to hold a flag or attack it. Even when we lsoe its been fun, purely because of that comaraderie. Bi often get the flack, from me and others, because they are the dominant clan (by that I mean largest, not skill set tongue) and so it is more noticeable.

If I play another game and see one team consistently hammering the other, I leave or try to team swap. In FS I can't do that because we often struggle to get even one server going.

However, the question has to be asked, are we losing players or not gaining new ones because the servers are empty, or because our forums are often full of this bickering over clan dominance?

:hurriedly closes can of worms, hides it under rock:

So. Anyways big_smile .

I liked the firefight at the end of that one Mos Espa round. I and a comrade were up in the tower by the Commercial District, and we were exchanging fire with imps on top of the tower by Jabba's City House (not the sniper one with the spiral stairs, the one closer to Gardulla's Palace Ruins). Big fun, and looked pretty cool, too. Makes me wish Mos Espa had more towers and tall buildings you could actually enter and fire out of.

Then some noob snuck by us and cowardly stole our last flag tongue .

Taloraan was fun, even though there wasn't that much teamwork on the part of our team, which lead to out lone ships getting slaughtered. The end of the second round was pretty cool, though, we were down to our last frigate, which was parked in a corner, so we manned it and brought it to bear against an enemy Lancer, with tonnes of rebel fighters providing escort.

The frigate was lost in the end, but it was an awesome fight.

Re: Time to welcome back the FS CGs!

It has nothing to do with clan dominance, it was a clear case of clan stacking in the last round or two I played last night with pretty much all BI on one side and everyone else on the other. It is up to them what they do on their server, but during a CG we want to show the mod at its best, and having all the new players on one side being hammered by the more experienced players on the other doesn't really help achieve that. It was a shame really as before that the night was full of nicely balanced good fun games that really helped to show FS in the best light.

This. I know several people who quit FS because of the constant whining.

I didn't see anybody complaining ingame. It doesn't matter what number of tags either side has as long as the game is fun for everyone.

Re: Time to welcome back the FS CGs!

Solution: Get your own server and populate/administrate/maintain/fund it yourselves. Then you can swap BI members so there are the same amount of tags on each side all the time!

That's the BlackIntel reply on all future clan stacking accusations, all of us are sick of it and simply don't care how much those accusations are thrown around anymore..  If teams are stupidly unbalanced, we'll swap, and we don't usually actively try to join team X which has more BI members (usually. . .), we're just glad when we do.

Bandu, if you're reading this, good games yesterday.  Towards the end, I'll admit, it was getting a bit unbalanced, so that must have been frustrating trying to fight against a seemingly unbeatable laser barrage..  Those were some interesting moves you pulled as a SL, I'm not used to fighting against a squad leader who isn't predictable. I was never sure what direction you would bring your guys in from next, I was lucky Slyfox was around to give me a shield when needed, and that bloodynoob was driving about in a speeder prepared to throw down a generator when needed.  Those two were probably what kept you from managing to reach our base most of the time.  I think it was the 3 of us in combo that made the game feel more onesided than anything else, as with one of us missing you guys would have had a lot less issues advancing.
