This has nothing to do with inter clan rivalry, how many games you win of a night, or who has the best clan, it has to do with providing a balanced gameplay environment during the CGs for new players who are trying out the mod for the first time. If you haven't figured out that that is the point that I'm making here yet,  then I'm wasting my breath.

Solution: Get your own server and populate/administrate/maintain/fund it yourselves. Then you can swap BI members so there are the same amount of tags on each side all the time!

As to admining it, as I recall BI rescinded my admin access to their server because they did not like some of my opinions. Up until that point you were all happy for me to help admin your server and setup CG's for you in your absence.

I may be wrong, it was a long time ago, but I think the last time your admin access to the BI server was removed was when our hardware failed, resulting in EVERYONE losing admin access.  Very few people were given access to our Temporary server(we thought we'd only be using it for a week), and we only setup the proper server again yesterday and only two of us have access at this time.

Now if you're all finished discussing clan stacking, maybe we can get back to the subject of community games?

Re: Time to welcome back the FS CGs!

Sorry Safe, I just need to say something about... clan stacking!

As Talon said, most of the night (or afternoon in my case) was fine until the end. I can assure you (almost) that we did not do any clan stacking on purpose. When we were bunched up it was probably a mixture of some opposing BI players quitting and some going back on because of a server crash, etc. However, I will say that none of us bothered to switch to the other team!

You could call it unintentional clan stacking if you want. And I only saw one guy complain about it, but the dude is one of the cheapest players you will ever find. Even when telling him to play properly, he will continue his various frowned upon activities (EXCESSIVE bunny hopping, vehicle stealing, etc.) If someone else said it, I would have considered switching, but that one particular guy does not deserve any respect.

If you are confused by all that I said, I just wanted to say the we are to blame in some ways, but we also get accused for no reason sometimes.

Bleh...
Good games this past Saturday and Sunday, see you all next week!

Re: Time to welcome back the FS CGs!

I really enjoyed last night and it made me even more determined to get a few new maps out asap.

I quite liked the 'clan stacking'(whether intentional or not) towards the end on Mos Espa. Well, it was cool when BI were defending anyway, not as enjoyable when we were defending smile. It was a real challenge to gain the Slave Quarters CP but when we finally did it felt like a nice little accomplishment. I wouldn't mind it becoming a regular thing for the end of each CG night tbh.

It's not my place to tell BI how to run their server but the only thing that I thought abit unfortunaate was how it seemed very easy for some to get kicked for swearing. It's just my opinion but I wouldn't boot people for swearing when the player base is so delicate. Not to blow our own collecive trumpet but this mod is excellent with 20+ players so it'd be a shame if some, even if they're a little sweary or immature, leave for good. Whether they're immature or amazingly sophistocated it matters not when they're the looking down the barrel of my blaster! big_smile

Bandu, if you're reading this, good games yesterday.  Towards the end, I'll admit, it was getting a bit unbalanced, so that must have been frustrating trying to fight against a seemingly unbeatable laser barrage..  Those were some interesting moves you pulled as a SL, I'm not used to fighting against a squad leader who isn't predictable. I was never sure what direction you would bring your guys in from next, I was lucky Slyfox was around to give me a shield when needed, and that bloodynoob was driving about in a speeder prepared to throw down a generator when needed.  Those two were probably what kept you from managing to reach our base most of the time.  I think it was the 3 of us in combo that made the game feel more onesided than anything else, as with one of us missing you guys would have had a lot less issues advancing.

It only became frustrating for me when we were defending Mos Espa.

Heh, it would have been great if I hadn't got killed when I used myself as a diversion for Snipey (his name was something like that anyway) to shotgun you, down that alleyway where you had the turret up .... I can't even remember the names of the guns its been that long since I played lol.

Re: Time to welcome back the FS CGs!

Ah, yeah.  I was raging after that.  I knew there were two of you, but thought he'd retreated to flank or something.  He didn't show up on my scanner because my minimap was zoomed out as far as possible so I could see people coming from further away, and your blip was overriding his.  He tried the same tactic a few times, but it's easy to adapt against shot gunners just by coming in at a different height.

I'll fix the swearfilter. It was it's default settings because it's a new server install, the default settings are quite... extreme.
