Well...there was Star Wars Galaxies, but then Sony Online Entertainment got a hold of it...
Anyway, the Old Republic trailer was interesting, but being an MMO, I find it a bit questionable regarding whether or not they can actually get that kind of pacing together, or if it'll just be the regular back and fourth attacks with a special bit every now and then. It also looks like it's trying to go the Force Unleashed route with the force powers.
Force Unleashed 2 is looking good, and all I can hope is that they make some various improvements on the first game: First, I hope they can rely a bit less on Quick Time Events. The finishing moves were neat, but it would be much better if you actually had the ability to do that yourself. Second, I hope they can make more use of the DMM and Euphoria technologies. I really loved watching the early videos where they demonstrated what was possible with them, but in-game it didn't really come up often. Sure, you would occasionally go into a room where there was some breakable glass or some bendable metal pillars, and you could see the enemies dive out of the way every now and then, but generally, you wouldn't really see the effects very often. Most of the environment was composed of static bits like canyons and metal walls, without any clutter or equipment that would take damage throughout a fight and be essentially wrecked when you were finished. As for Euphoria, to actually get enemies to do anything other than dive, you would have to practically rub them up against railings, other enemies, or objects to get any effect.
...but frankly, that has nothing to do with the trailers. I thought they were both pretty neat.
Curses, foiled again!
